Methodology
One mass-balance methodology, aligned with the GHG Protocol LSRS
Segmos runs chains of custody for low-carbon materials.
It reconciles the volumes that carry a climate attribute with the volumes that leave your sites, and records which customer received what. The method follows one catch-all standard, ISO 22095-2 for mass balance, and adds the conditions the GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Standard sets for physical traceability.

GHG Protocol LSRS 2026: the bar for climate claims
The Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSRS) is the GHG Protocol's rulebook for land-based emissions and CO₂ removals. Published in January 2026 and effective from January 2027, it tells companies how to count land emissions, land use change and removals in their Scope 3 inventory.
Among its rules, it sets what counts as physical traceability for farm and region-specific emission factors: without it, a company falls back to regional averages and cannot claim the reductions its suppliers achieved.
The tool below tells you whether your set-up clears that bar.
